During MD2 the intern offered to supervise me doing an ABG. The actual drawing of the blood went very smoothly and I got the artery in one shot. As you know we have to put that special cap on the syringe afterward and push the air out through it. I was trying to push the air out not realising my finger was blocking the top where the air comes out. I kept pushing harder because the plunger wouldn’t move and suddenly the end shot off and the blood went with it, all over the wall, roof and my shirt. I was so embarrassed! They had to get a ladder in to clean the roof.
